The firm in its present form originally commenced in 1959 and was based in Auckland city. It was started by Basil Lay and Kenneth Dodd and they have since passed on the mantle to the present directors Peter Clarke and Craig Le Quesne. In December 2008, the firm merged with Hargrave Accounting Limited and moved to its present premises at 3 Owens Road, Epsom/Newmarket.

People

Peter Clarke

Peter has been a partner for the past 20 years of Lay Dodd and prior to this was a sole practitioner. He has also spent a number of years in the corporate sector in senior management positions to a range of small to medium sized businesses. In working with his clients he has been involved in a significant range of project and consulting work that has included completing business valuations budget and cash flow analysis, finance restructuring, liquidations and all manner of tax investigations.

Craig Le Quesne

Craig joined the Team following the merger of his Newmarket practice and has been a Partner of Lay Dodd Partners since 2016. He has been involved in the Chartered Accountancy business for over twenty years, and services a wide ranging client base. Over the years, Craig has assisted clients in all facets of their business affairs from taxation to Trusts to structural advice.
